My journey with RNT fitness began back in October 2019 when a light bulb moment on the internet meant my life would change forever. For years, I had battled with yo-yo dieting, losing weight and gaining weight but this time I wanted to try and push boundaries and limits and try something more drastic - a permanent lifestyle solution. Having tipped the scales at the heaviest I’ve ever been in my life of 67kg, I knew I needed to change my ways and find something that would fit in with my busy work lifestyle but get me results. I signed up for 6 months setting myself a target of getting to 50kg by the end of it. I intentionally set myself a goal which I thought was impossible to achieve, If I got anywhere close to the halfway point by 6 months that was good enough for me and a massive achievement to anything I had done before. I finished my 6 months just as lockdown commenced and managed to surpass my target of 50kg to see the unimaginable 49kg for the first time on the scales.
Within the first 3 months of my journey, I moved jobs from one company to another and moved house. This also included moving gyms. Having gone through two major life changes and still keeping my 3Ss in place I was well on my way to success. The RNT team has been my rock through all the ups and downs and major changes helping me navigate my way through a journey which I thought was out of my reach. They kept me going when things got tough and when the famous “Plateau” kicked in, and boy did they kick in! Every few months I got a reality check that this wasn’t going to be easy, but the wise words of my coach of patience and consistency kept me going till the end. The first 4 weeks was a shocker and it felt like my life literally got turned upside down. It’s at that moment you question yourself, is this too extreme? Can I do this? But the RNT team were there believing in me the whole way and to pick me up when I doubted myself and the rewards 6 months later couldn’t be sweeter.
Having just started my Investment Phase and successfully completing consolidation, I look back and realise how far I’ve come and how much I’ve learnt about health and fitness, and the power of having structure in my life. I feel stronger and more confident ready to take on the world and see where this journey will take me in the future. Most importantly it’s taught me how important the balance of nutrition and exercise really is to maintain a healthy lifestyle solution. I started this journey into the unknown not knowing if I will reach the top of the mountain and how far I may get, but once you get to the top the view is breathtaking and you feel anything is possible.
