Over the last 82 weeks I have been on one of the most interesting journeys of my life. A fitness journey. Weighing in at 102kg in September 2018 when I started the RNT journey, today I ended my Process Phase of fat loss at 66kg, losing a total of 36kg and 19-20% of body fat. Needless to say, it has been one of the most difficult journeys of my life but with it came countless teachings in food awareness, weight training and the importance of exercise to cardiovascular health. My asthma has regulated and my acid reflux is almost non existent now. I feel healthier, fitter, happier and more able to tackle any challenges sent my way. It really is the definition of using the physical as a vehicle.
The journey has never been an easy one. Coasting when the results were going well but having to deal with the dips in motivation and psychological strains subjected from the society around have made it a bumpy one with a lot of downs but many more ups. Over the last year and a half I have done a countless amount of steps, starting off with 10,000 a day and recently hitting 20,000 each day. This, combined with a healthier, controlled diet and a progression on strength training has got me to this point. Never would I have thought in a million years that I would be where I am now.
However, this is only a checkpoint in the fitness journey for life. Whilst the fat loss has ended, the next part of the journey of consolidation begins. One where I begin to mould this new body and mindset into a permanent lifestyle solution.
It wouldn’t have been possible without the RNT Team, they have supported me from day one through my triumphs and tantrums alike. Karishma (my partner) for having to deal with my strict lifestyle from the day we started dating, who eventually jumped onto the train with me and went through her own lifestyle change. A journey I started alone but one we ended together!
And of course RNT fitness and the whole family on here for all the tips, tricks and motivation I have definitely needed and will need as I carry on into unknown yet exciting territory.
Although I may be almost half the size of the Neeraj that people knew from 2018, inside still lives 100% Neeraj - if not more!
For the new starters - keep going at it and use the resources of the people who have been through the process around you to prop you up and motivate you when things look tough, you’ll never walk alone…
