So where do I begin?! I signed up for RNT in January 2020 for the April enrollment after many, many months of deliberation (which I now consider to be a wasted opportunity to start earlier!). Being in a demanding job, a father of two truly amazing children; a husband to a wonderful wife (who by the way also signed up); I am a HUGE family man. So I was worried about the time I needed to invest in the programme; finding the time to train regularly, finding the time to cook/prep the meals and it’s fair to say the cost also concerned me a little. But I took the plunge and it’s the second best decision I have ever made in my life (the first being marrying my wife of course!)
I was always a self-conscious person. Being quite skinny, I could only dream of having a great physique like an athlete. I didn’t like to wear shorts and never would I have considered wearing a vest out in public. I did join a gym a couple of times during the past 20 years but it never really lasted too long. I wasn’t seeing the results I wanted and soon became disheartened. Going to random machines and deciding how much I feel like doing that day; I had no real plan to make me focus. The other side of the coin was the diet. I never really thought I had a bad diet, I felt I ate like normal people but continued to be skinny but putting on weight in the wrong place – mainly my stomach. I realise now that I didn’t really know what I was doing, both in terms of the training and the diet. This is why I decided to join RNT. They made it amazingly simple: Here’s your training plan. Here’s your diet plan. Do this, eat that and you WILL see the results and get into the shape of your life.. for life. And it’s so true!! They gave me a plan, something to focus on and I ran with it.. if not sprinted with it!
The RNT team has guided me on every step of the way. When I felt low and needed to be picked up, he would pick me up and re-motivate me. When I was a little naughty and strayed from the plan (which was only once btw!), they pulled me up on it. They always know what to say and when to say it to get the best out of me. In RNT they are true life coach/mentors rather than just a ‘personal trainer’.
The impact on my family life is also not what I expected or was anything to be concerned about. In fact, the total opposite. My children (who are only 10 and 7) are now so much more conscious of fitness and diet. They have embraced this new lifestyle just as much as we have. I remember taking my youngest son shopping and he said “Dad, look! Let’s get this instead because it has more protein and less fat and carbs than the one we already have”. My jaw was on the floor and the lady standing next to us had this look of amazement which I’ll never forget.
I like to compare RNT to Sat Navs. We all remember the days of the ‘A to Z’ and how amazing it was when Sat Navs were invented. Something that now tells you and shows you how to get to where you want to go. That’s RNT!! They are the equivalent of the Sat Nav of the fitness world.. for real! (Except they won’t send you down a dead-end road into a river!)
I am only in week 19 and my results have been far beyond my expectations and I already feel like a new man (or the old me from university days). My confidence is sky high and I haven’t even finished the programme yet. All I can say to you is that if you are reading this, you’re obviously considering signing up for RNT. STOP considering and do it! I wish I had started earlier! It’s been worth every single penny. In fact, I’d say it’s worth more, so it’s a bargain!! You will not regret it!
