Jasprit felt like she had lost all control over her life after her children were born. Working full time with a toddler and a newborn left her scrambling to find time to prioritise her health and well-being.
When her husband signed up to RNT, he convinced her to sign up with him so they could support each other throughout.
It came as a pleasant surprise when she realised that working on a transformation together helped her achieve results she never thought possible.
Here’s Jasprit’s story…
1. What were the series of moments that led to your “trigger” moment to begin your journey with RNT?
After having my babies, I struggled to regain routine in my life, particularly in terms of my health and fitness. Pregnancy and postpartum are challenging as it is, and was especially challenging for me because I like structure.
I often felt overwhelmed and uncertain when I tried to find a solution to get back control of my life as a working mom.
Then, after having my second baby, my husband suggested trying RNT together. Intrigued by the program’s transformative potential and long-term results, I decided to give it a shot. I’m grateful that I took the plunge and stuck with it because it made a significant positive impact on my life.
2. What were your biggest problems before starting RNT?
Before starting RNT, my most significant challenges revolved around trying to be organised around planning meals and exercise.
Balancing a full-time job, a toddler, and a newborn left my life feeling completely chaotic. I found myself eating whatever was convenient or simply sharing my kids’ meals. As for workouts, they were sporadic and only happened during brief moments when I could briefly step away from my children. Overall, I had no proper routine for myself, and this lack of structure added to the overwhelm.
3. What has the process been like, and the biggest challenges and obstacles?
The process was difficult at first as I have never had to be so strict with my diet in the past. I have always been very active, so I got away with a less strict diet in my younger years.
It was eye opening to hear how much weight I would have to lose to obtain the results I wanted.
I struggled at first to find a meal prep system that worked for my busy schedule and foods that I enjoyed eating. With some trial and error, though, I was able to get this down and now my meal prep takes minutes.
I also found it very challenging maintaining a social life while dieting. It took a completely different perspective to be able to manage my diet while on vacation or attending social gatherings.
I have discovered ways to enjoy myself even in the company of people who are eating and drinking while I choose not to partake.
Through this journey, I have also learned to enjoy these things in moderation rather than excess.
So much of my journey has been self reflection on old habits, especially those surrounding food, and learning extensively about nutrition and macro counting.
4. How has the physical been the vehicle?
The physical has been the vehicle as this transformation has gone beyond the physical gains only. Getting into shape, and pushing myself out of my comfort zone has taught me perseverance, sacrifice and self control.
It has boosted my confidence levels both in my personal life and in my career.
5. What almost kept you from joining?
The cost was a major factor. Also, the fear that the commitment would be too much for me in this stage of my life. But, the truth is, if it’s important to you, you will find a way to get it done!
